Abstract:
This work was conceived as the echo of a dream experience that traces a sensory-cognitive path marked by four stages:
1) open space - the sea, 2) woods, 3) clearing, 4) cave. This path aims to deepen ever deeper layers of ours
unconscious; if the first stage, in fact, introduces to that state of semi-sleep that opens up to the experience of our subconscious, the fourth reaches the deeper layers of our unconscious. This dream journey after having reached a sort of zero point (cave) follows a reverse path that retraces the same previous stages with retrograde motion. In this way, a sort of symbolic experience of our dream dimension takes place, which takes place in our sleep.
The entire work of Sleep is divided into eight stages, the last four of which are the inverse of the first, in turn each stage is divided into two movements, thus reaching the total number of sixteen movements that trace a path lasting just over seven hours.
